Understanding the
Cleansing Crisis

Detoxification
is an adjustment made by the
body to purge waste material from within. The elimination of stored
toxins, sometimes called a "healing crisis," is part of the body's
healing process. During a healing crisis, toxins are pulled out of the
body tissues and into circulation to be eliminated.
These
are temporary positive cleansing signs;
NOT side effects. We need to understand the changes that arise from
introducing higher-quality foods, or by reducing the use of stimulants
such as coffee, tea or chocolate.
Hering's
Law of Rebuilding the Body
The
definition of the healing crisis, or
"Hering's Law of Cure," has gained wide-spread acceptance over the
years: All cleansing begins from the inside out, from the head down,
and in reverse order as the symptoms have appeared.
As
you use the products, sometimes within days
or even hours, a burst of energy and well-being may be experienced.
Your body is infinitely intelligent and if given the proper tools -
good nutrition, fresh air and water, adequate rest and positive mental
attitude - will manage to work itself through a healing crisis and
"miraculously" heal itself.
Normally,
a healing crisis will develop within
three months of a positive change in life-style. A healing crisis may
last from a few hours to a few days; rarely longer. A young person will
detoxify quicker than an older person. A person may experience more
than one healing crisis to fully discharge toxins from the body
tissues. Each healing crisis is followed by increased vitality and
greater physical well-being. Perhaps the greatest challenge of a
healing crisis is not to become discouraged, but to learn from the
experience.
Positive
Cleansing Signs
Understanding
the cleansing symptoms - how they
arise, how to relieve them and how to interpret them as part of the
pathway towards vibrant health - is essential. Any health care
practitioner who deals with cleansing and rebuilding knows that as the
body is cleansing, people may suffer mild headaches, cramping, light
skin rashes, diarrhea, flu-like symptoms, fatigue, gas or bloating. (As
with all health products, always check with your doctor prior to use.)
Reduce dosage if cleansing becomes too severe.
Mild
Cramping
As
the muscles in the bowel start to work
again, it may seem like cramping, but it's actually your large
intestine beginning to work properly. This cramping can be reduced by
drinking more water - 8 to 10 glasses a day is recommended. Make sure
you drink 1 to 2 glasses of water when you actually take your colon
cleanser. Avoid carbonated beverages. They will slow down the cleansing
process and increase the cramping. Regular exercise will also help
reduce cramping. Even a walk around the block can be a great relief.
Reduce dosage of products if cleansing is too severe or becomes too
uncomfortable. Remember, cleansing signs happen to very few people and
they are temporary.
Mild
Diarrhea
Watery
diarrhea occurs when the bowel has been
severely limited in its ability to reabsorb water and the extra water
passes directly through the bowel. If you experience watery diarrhea,
decrease the amount of colon cleanser you are taking. This will allow
the bowel to cleanse gently and effectively without the inconvenience
of diarrhea. Loose stools and diarrhea are cleansing symptoms that pass
with time as the toxins are eliminated from the bowel. Reduce dosage of
products if cleansing is too severe or becomes too uncomfortable. These
are temporary positive cleansing signs, not side effects.
Mild
Gas or Bloating
Bloating
or gas can happen when the body is
cleansing and eliminating old fecal matter and parasites. It's like
cleaning the inside of an old house. If the air in our house is dusty
and stale, you open the windows to bring in fresh air. Bowel cleansing
is like letting out the old dusty, stale air. Many people who have been
suffering from auto-intoxication for a number of years may have a high
parasite count living in their body. This can produce foul smelling
gases as they are being eliminated by the parasite cleanser. After
completing the cleansing program, many people stay on the maintenance
program, and expelling foul smelling gas from the bowels becomes a
thing of the past. Reduce dosage of products if cleansing is too severe
or becomes too uncomfortable. These are temporary positive cleansing
signs, not side effects.
Mild
Headaches
As
your body cleanses and starts to rebuild,
you may notice some mild headaches. This usually means toxins are being
cleansed from the body and the toxic levels in the blood are slightly
elevated. This can also mean that toxins are clearing from the brain,
sinuses and various other areas in the upper body. Many people who have
had regular headaches in the past will find that they will experience a
mild return of these headaches temporarily. This is due to the toxins
clearing from the body. Staying consistent with the products inevitably
provides positive results as the toxins clear from the body. Remember
to drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day. If you are still
uncomfortable, reduce your dosage of the cleanser. These are temporary
positive cleansing signs, not side effects.
Mild
Flu-like Symptoms
This
involves fatigue, light-headed spells, and
just a general yucky feeling. This is quite common as the body is
cleansing toxins. Toxins in the blood stream can cause many different
symptoms in the body. Therefore, it is necessary to drink a lot of
water while the body is cleansing. Drinking water will also help to
reduce stress levels. Flu-like symptoms can occur more than once during
the cleansing process. Reduce dosage of products if cleansing is too
severe or becomes too uncomfortable. These are temporary positive
cleansing signs, not side effects. Drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water
daily helps remove toxins from the body and speed the cleansing
process. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables or even juicing them is
extremely important. You will notice a difference by incorporating this
into your diet. Also, remember to rest, rest, rest! Whenever you feel a
little tired and it's convenient, take a nap. Many times, the reason
you feel tired during the cleansing process is that your body is using
its energy to cleanse the toxins out. Extra rest also helps the body to
rebuild when you are cleansing.
Important
Points To Remember
1.
Understand that as your body is healing,
cleansing, and rebuilding, you need to rest and take good care of
yourself. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.
2.
Stick to the basics and use common sense.
Reduce dosage of products if cleansing is too severe or becomes too
uncomfortable.
3.
Persistence pays off. Stay on the products.
Many people see life-changing results when they stay on the products
long-term for a minimum of 6 months. For added support, encourage your
family and friends to use the products and let their testimonies serve
as added motivation.
4.
Keep track of your result. Remember to write
a letter to the person who shared these products with you. Let them
know all the wonderful and positive improvements you have noticed in
your health. Your success will influence and inspire others to continue
spreading the message.
5.
Remember: Stay consistent!
Extra
Tips
Reducing
stress will help the healing crisis
pass faster. Some people may need to evaluate their daily stress levels
which can include a poor diet, smoking, caffeine, sugar, white flour
and other lifestyle elements that contribute to poor health.
Drink
plenty of pure or distilled water (8 to
10 glasses per day), exercise regularly, eat lots of fruit, whole
grains, and raw or lightly steamed vegetables. The best results are
seen after 6 to 12 months. Stay consistent for better results. The
longer you stay on the products, the better the results will be.
Exercise
is Important
Exercise
aids in the detoxification process.
Find an exercise program that is fun and not so ambitious that it is
impossible to adhere to. Many people begin an exercise program with the
best of intentions, only to find that it is either too difficult or
requires too much time. Find an easy activity and gradually increase
your level of exercise. Remember, a little exercise is better than none
at all. One of the best exercises is walking. Toxins cause stiff and
aching muscles and are eliminated through the sweat glands. Your
walking distance and pace can be upgraded as time will allow. Walking
20 to 30 minutes, three to five times a week, will help prevent toxins
from overloading the system, being reabsorbed, and will allow the body
to eliminate more toxins. The skin is an important organ of elimination
and toxins can be released more efficiently it if is in proper
condition. To aid this process, try the detoxification bath described
below.
Using
a body brush, stimulate lymph and blood
flow by dry-brushing the skin from the ends of the limbs toward the
heart, including the abdomen, and repeating daily until the crisis
passes. Many health professionals suggest daily brushing of the skin to
help keep the lymphatic system in optimum condition. Please consult
your physician before starting any exercise program.
