What We Did When Choosing Our First Apartment

This year started in a different way. My fiance and I had been talking for a long time about moving in together, but it wasn’t until this year that things really started to take shape and finally happened!

At the beginning of February, we started looking for a “real” apartment to live. Before that, we had already seen many apartments, but nothing very defined, we were just “looking”…

Things weren’t very planned, but as soon as we “really” decided to move in together, everything happened very quickly, and as I like to believe that everything happens in its own time, we ended up finding the ideal apartment and moved in less of a month!

All this to say that it is clear that this change ends up reflecting in all areas of my life. At this point I end up concentrating much more time and energy thinking about everything that involves the new house, from decorating to adapting to this new moment!

So I thought it would be fun to share with you my experiences, tips and decorating inspirations regarding my first apartment. Come with me!?

Choosing An Apartment

Let’s start with choosing the apartment! I believe the most important factor before choosing where to live is to make a list of essentials. This way, we don’t waste time on something that won’t work in real life.

We decided that we wanted an apartment that was new, that had a balcony with a barbecue, with 2 bedrooms, a laundry room separated from the kitchen, and very sunny, etc.

Having this well-defined list of what was important to us was essential to finding the apartment more easily. I don’t remember exactly, but I think in 2 or 3 weeks we had already found it! And then there was that rush, signing paperwork, saying goodbye to the parents’ house and starting the move!
